Meet our Doctors
Dr Sandra Kehoe

Dr Sandra Kehoe qualified in medicine from Trinity College Dublin in 1993. She completed the University College Cork Vocational Training Programme for General Practice in 1997. She did a Fellowship in Family Practice and worked as an attending Physician in the Department of Community Medicine in St Vincent’s Hospital New York working with the homeless. She is a Diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice by examination. She has worked at 65 Tullow Street Carlow as a GP since 2000. She completed a Higher Diploma in Dermatology in 2001 in UCD. Special interests include, Women’s Health, Contraception (Coil and Implant insertion), Children’s Health and Disability, Health and Wellbeing Promotion and Dermatology. Dr Kehoe has completed Positive Behaviour and Mindfulness based stress reduction training. She is actively involved in continuous professional development and is a busy mother to 3 boys and actively partakes in Dragonboating.
Dr Helen Delaney

Dr Helen Delaney graduated in Medicine from UCD in 1997. She spent a year working in Australia, then completed her GP training in Galway before joining the Practice in 2002. Her special interests include Women’s Health (Coil and Implant insertion) and Dermatology and all aspects of General Medicine.
Dr A.K. Murali Nair
M.B.B.S, F.R.C.S, M.R.C.G.P.

Dr Murali Nair qualified in medicine in 1984 in India. He then trained in surgical specialities in the UK and passed the FRCS surgery (Edinburgh) and FRCS (Glasgow). In 1994 he trained in Ireland as a Registrar in General Surgery and Urology. He subsequently joined the VTS training scheme in Oxford UK and was awarded his MRCGP from London in 2005. In 2006 Dr Nair joined the practice in Carlow. He has a keen interest in all kinds of general medicine (Asthma, Diabetes, COPD, Cardiovascular health), minor surgery, joint injections, orthopaedics, dermoscopy and men’s health. He enjoys paediatrics and has a special interest in mental health matters.
Dr Sinead Byrne

Dr Sinéad achieved her undergraduate qualifications from University College Galway in 2012. She continued in the West of Ireland to complete her GP training on the Western GP training scheme gaining experience in a wide variety of medical specialities including Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Psychiatry, Emergency Medicine, Care of the Elderly & Stroke Medicine, Acute Medical Assessment and Paediatrics.

Prior to GP training Sinead worked in the ‘Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service’ and has gained a vast amount of experience in ‘Adult & Old Age Psychiatry’ both through her undergraduate studies and postgraduate training. She also has a diploma in Clinical Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians Ireland. Sinéad is the GP representative on the committee for the development of Clinical Psychiatric Services in the Carlow/Kilkenny area and most recently has completed a body of work to help guide Physicians through the Mental Health Act.

Sinead has a keen interest in Women’s Health, is a qualified Community Gynaecologist’ and she also, attained a Diploma in Women’s Health from the Royal College of Physician’s Ireland. She is also qualified in LARC (long acting reversible contraception) insertion.
Sinéad is an Associate Clinical Lecturer in the University of Limerick – she teaches the Paediatric Emergency module to the Post Graduate students in St Luke’s Hospital Kilkenny and is responsible for teaching UL students within the practice.
Native of Carlow, Sinéad loves practicing medicine in her hometown, where she enjoys living close to her family and friends.
Meet our Nurses
Nurse Lara Dillon​​
​
Lara commenced Nurse training in 1998 in Trinity College Dublin with St James Hospital. After qualifying as a Nurse Lara spent some time working in the different areas of St James Hospital before specialising in Paediatrics through U.C.D. and Crumlin Children’s Hospital. Lara at this time specialised and trained in Paediatric Intensive care which is where she happily stayed until she ventured in to Practice Nursing after starting her own family. Lara is a qualified Nurse Prescriber and joined the Practice in 2013. Lara is a keen sportswoman spending all of her spare time training for Triathlons, travelling to other countries on occasion to compete!
Nurse Rhonda McCann​
Rhonda trained in General Nursing in Richmond Hospital in Dublin and qualified in 1984. She completed a Post Graduate Theatre Nursing programme and continued to work in theatre for 12 years including Beaumont, Aut Even and Kilcreene Hospitals. Rhonda joined the Practice in 1996 and completed the Royal College of Surgeons Practice Nurse course in 1997.
Nurse Aoife R​eddy ​
Aoife studied nursing in Queen’s University Belfast. On graduation she worked in the Regional Intensive Care unit in the Royal Victoria Hospital as an ICU Nurse. She has completed post graduate training in Intensive Care Nursing and subsequently worked as a Clinical Application Specialist in various intensive care units integrating software programmes and tutoring clinical staff. Aoife has been working as a Practice Nurse for 10 years. Aoife has recently qualified as a Nurse Prescriber in August 2023. Outside of work Aoife has a keen interest in the Arts and has been known to tread the boards with Carlow Little Theatre Society.
Nurse Emer Bolger

An R.G.N. by background, Emer later gained a Degree in Bachelor of Nursing Studies (Honours) from Dublin City University as well as a Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Body Massage (ITEC). In her early career Emer worked in both the Mater Misericordiae University and Mater Private Hospitals. She spent some time working as a nurse in Sydney and also worked in New York. On returning home she completed a management course gaining a National Diploma in Business Studies (Healthcare Management) qualification from the Institute of Public Administration (IPA).

She worked for many years as a Clinical Nurse Manager 2 in Beaumont Hospital’s Hepatology Unit, managing Hepatitis C treatment services for out-patients alongside the complex nursing needs of patients with advanced liver disease. Emer has worked in General Practice since 2007. She enjoys working with patients on the HSE Structured Chronic Disease Management Programme. She most recently completed a Diploma in Health Economics also from the IPA.

Meet our Management & Administration Team
Practice Manager Clare Farrell
Clare is a dedicated and compassionate health care manager with 16 years experience in both hospital and corporate office environments. Clare leads our team of dedicated staff and is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the practice. Clare has a Bachelor of Commerce, is a Graduate Member of the CIPD and is a trained auditor.
Our wonderful, helpful and friendly Administration Team includes Helen, Carmel, Aishling, Valerie, Olivia, Paula, Nicola and Natasha.
Each of the administration staff are multi-skilled, they are available to assist you with any queries you may have on your arrival at the surgery or on the phone, be they medical, prescriptions or any other queries. All our staff have signed up to our practice policy of patient privacy and confidentiality.
